Hi Team:

We were supposed to lock down this week.  But decided to extend that for another week.  Because:

1.   We are coming close to finalizing the GPS unit.  It will be housed in a compartment within the same special controller box you guys saw way before on Instagram,   It will be directly connected to the battery so everytime you turn on the power it will sip to refill itself.  It will have a standby time of around 5 days when fully charged, even after you remove the battery.  It uses 2G network for delivering the GPS data to the service center and send notifications to you via an app.  no  sms required.  It will require a data plan that will be covered in the price of the GPS unit for its first year.  After that it will be about USD$30/yr.  The sim card is integrated into the GPS, so no need for you to run around trying to get one.  It should work in moat parts of the world.  Even if you are traveling.

2.  We are still trying to lock down whether we can get the anodize colors.  Because we have to use a strong welding compound for the frames, for the EN14766 mountain bike cert. we cannot use the specialized anodizing welding rods.  Which in turn will impart a darker color to the welds than the rest of the frame.  We like it, it looks strong and rugged, kind of like an outline but we'll show you guys some pictures before you have to make your choice, If we decide to proceed with the anodized colors, unfortunately for those of you who decide not to have the anodized colors they'll have to choose from the existing paint colors : Matte Black, Pearl, Ruby and Cobalt.  I hope this doesn't sound too confusing.

3.  We are still awaiting words from the frame factory regarding the schedule of our frames.  We have been pushing them everyday and they have been very helpful , but it's a big factory, they usually schedule their production months in advance.  We have been trying to get a production slot for the end of Sept but they haven't totally agree yet.  We shall know in a few days.

Thanks and please stay tuned!

And our bikes for Europe will be certified EN 15194

There's no import tax on ebikes coming into US from China.

Hi Team, we have just been informed that our latest tweaked frame has passed the EN14766 Horizontal Stress Test as well!

So we are good to go on the frame. We are pushing for the soonest available schedule from the frame factory, and they shall have a more definitive answer for us within the week.  We have already purchased all the parts and started production of other parts as you have seen in the Instagram updates, so now as soon as the frames are done we’ll be painting and assembling them.  There will be a separate update on the frame shortly.

We will be locking down in 10 days. Pls make sure you put down the right address, and get all the upgrades you want etc.  We'll be posting all the other upgrades available within next few days.

For backers outside of US, where there are custom charges these will be calculated based on where you live and you’ll be advised of it.  Custom charges has to be collected before the shipper would ship the bike.

In the event of backers living in countries where there are limited number of backers these charges might be quite high.  The option would be do an air freight delivery which could end up costing less in some cases.

We can’t thanks you guys enough for sticking with us and seeing this bike through.  This is a true labor of love for the whole team and we are proud of what we have accomplished together!
