Hi Team.  We are have just uploaded an update with video on the test in progress at TUV-Sud today.  These tests are pretty grueling and thorough, they will take a few days to finish.

Usually there will be some minor refinements to make after the tests, we'll see.

Hi, Ken again.  This week we are taking about a dozen of our frames to the test facility for various tests including the stress test to make sure the frames work as designed. Basically these frames will be tortured repeatedly for about 100,000 times in various ways to make sure they are strong enough for your daily safe usage.  These frame will be put through hell, so you don’t have to.  We are working with TUV-Sud, a German test lab with 150 years of history for our testing.  They should be reasonably reliable. :) http://www.tuv-sud.com/home_com

Normally these labs don’t allow photography inside but we are negotiating to bring you some visuals of the tests.

We also have something for carrying your spare battery.  A waterproof pannier bag that utilizes our quick release mount.   The bag comes with 2 detachable pouches: 1 for spare battery; 1 for a 15” laptop.  This shall be available in the pre-order store next week.

You can also watch the video update.  Which shows the bag towards the end.

Hi Team.  We have posted an update video from Ken regarding the delivery schedule.  Unfortunately the relocation didn't go as well as we had hoped.  We had to re-do a lot of the work instead of transferring and building on what we had done up to that point.  Including all the molds etc.  But that is finally done now.  And it looks like we are back on track again!  Please watch the video message.                                                   https://youtu.be/4_SU2eyeJfs

Hi Team.  Looks like we underestimated the time it takes to uproot and change the manufacturing base.  We ended up having to redo basically everything from scratch.  We'll have an update on that by Monday.  We did take the opportunity to make some fine tuning to the frame.

Hello MOAR Backers! Thank you again for your patience while we work out the kinks in the fulfillment process. Ken has a message for everybody – please give the video above a watch.

Regarding shipping, we’ve got good news and less good news.

Unfortunately, Batch 1 shipping will be delayed until the end of June. There are three reasons for this:

  1. Complexity – Our system offers our backers a huge amount of customization. We’re ecstatic to be able to provide what essentially amount to custom built bikes to all our backers. All the different permutations of MOAR Bikes and accessories we have on offer do make the fulfillment process more complicated.
  2. Bike Sharing Boom – Bike sharing has recently taken off in China, and many of the factories are swamped fulfilling orders for bike sharing programs. This has reduced the capacity available for orders like ours.
  3. Clean Air Initiative – The Chinese government has recently passed a number of regulations surrounding environmental protection, and this has meant that many factories are unable to operate at full capacity, with even major factories shutting down or working at night.

The good news is that we are already taking steps to mitigate each of these challenges. We are moving our production to a new area, and keeping the process going. As a show of our appreciation of your patience and your continued support, we will be providing all our backers with a free phone mount that will ship with their MOAR Bike!

Thank you again, from Ken and the entire MOAR team.
